Mr. Usama Khawar Ghumman is a Lahore based constitutional lawyer and an academic, teaching at his alma mater LUMS Law School, with profound interest in research, litigation, and advocacy of constitutional and human rights issues.
Mr. Ghumman holds an LLM in International Law from Columbia University (New York) and an LLM in Comparative Constitutional Law Central European University (Budapest). Through his practice, Mr. Ghumman has led efforts towards Strategic Public Interest Litigation before the Supreme Court and High Courts of the Country, for litigating in the Public Interest for Police Reforms, Local Governments, Freedom of Speech and Information, and protection of Labor Rights. Most recently, he was involved in the drafting of several Punjab Local Government Act, 2022 passed in June and was also a key member of the Chief Minister Punjab’s Committee on Prison Reforms.
